APPLICATION INSTRUCTIONS FOR INTERIOR DECORATIONS
WORKING
SURFACE
The
surface must be dry, smooth and free of dust, dirt,
grease, wax & silicon.
Always
clean non-absorbent surfaces with alcohol (ethanol,
IPA)
IMPORTANT!
Do not use a solvent-based adhesive as this could partly
dissolve the sheet backing.
Tesrol
has a polystyrene safe adhesive for use on this product.
IMPORTANT
Unpack
rolled goods approximately 24 hours prior to use. Lay
out flat at room temperature and if required,
apply
additional weight.
CUTTING, DRILLING, PUNCHING & SAWING
Any
such activities must be carried out on the front surface
of the material
Never
work on SIBU from the back!
APPLICATION
The
ideal working temperature is between 15oC - 30oC
The
material to be used must be acclimatised,
i.e. brought
to room temperature (avoidance of condensation
on the
adhesive surface)
A
temperature increase of 10oC will cause SIBU to expand
by approximately 0.7mm over a length of 1m.
In
general, a gap of approximately 0.5-1mm or more should
be left between the sheets for expansion - use
of M58
/ M60 profiles is recommended
In
the case of high ambient temperatures, or temperatures
subject to large fluctuations, the expansion gap should
be larger and the slightly smaller sheet size be used.
Take
care to avoid trapped air bubbles. The use of a medium
-hard rubber roller is recommended.
Do
not hold in place with masking tape or similar as this
can remove or damage the surface coat.
FIRE RATING
Early Fire Hazard Test - Australian Standard 1530 :
Part 3
1. Ignitability
- 12; 2. Spread
of flame - 9; 3. Heat
evolved - 10; 4. Smoke developed - 8
These results allow for SIBU Design Decorative finishes
to be included
into building classes as defined by the Building Code
of Australia (BCA)
1996. The Early Fire Hazard Indices only apply to floors,
walls and
ceiling and not to furnishings.
WET AREA
SIBU Design Decorative sheeting can be used in relative
wet areas, ensuring that all joints are sealed properly
with a water-based silicone sealant. It is not suitable
for direct contact with water.
LIMITATIONS
The Siro Burg range of HIPS decorative sheeting is recommended
for interior vertical and light duty horizontal use and
should not be applied to areas that have regular exposure
to heat and weather. |
